Volunteering at AHHH during COVID-19 looks a bit different. Unfortunately, we are unable to have volunteers on site or accept food that has been prepared in your home right now due to guests with compromised immune systems.

However, this is what you CAN do right now to help us:

  • Donate supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, disinfectant, hand sanitizers, masks, cleaning supplies, etc.

  • Create snack bags for guests to take to the hospital. Items that are appreciated are: granola bars, trail mix, bottled water, crackers, and hand written notes.

  • Donate food from grocery stores that we can prepare here ourselves. We especially need a variety of meats and fresh fruits and veggies.

  • Purchase a meal from a local restaurant to be delivered to the house for dinner. This helps support small restaurants AND gives staff a break in preparing a meal. To do so, please call or email us and we will get you on the calendar!

*Items can be mailed directly to the house or dropped off anytime Monday-Friday from 9am-9pm and Saturday and Sunday from 2pm-9pm.

Thank you so much for partnering with us during this time to provide a home away from home for those who HAVE to be here for life-saving medical treatment!

We want you to join our team and partner with us in serving those facing a medical crisis.  There is a place for everyone at AHHH and all ages are welcome to serve.  We believe it's important for children to learn the art of serving and want families to serve together.  We just ask that children under the age of 16 be accompanied by an adult.

Individuals or Groups are invited to...

  • Provide, prepare, and serve dinner for guests (typically 15-20 people)

    • Bring your team during working hours and provide great team building while cooking

    • Or come in the evening and join the guests for dinner and hear their stories

    • Meals can be prepared at your home and brought in or cooked in our fully-stocked kitchen

  • Provide covered-dish suppers for guests that we can freeze and serve later

  • Create notes and snack bags for guests- Often caregivers don't care for themselves well and this allows us a tangible way to care the caregiver. Snack bags can be taken to the hospital and often include: bottled water, granola bars, trail mix, etc.

  • Assist staff with clerical projects

  • Clean and organize closets, cabinets, pantry, laundry rooms

  • Assist in general house cleaning

  • Perform basic facility maintenance

  • Provide donations of kitchen and household products (We can use anything you would use in your home just multiplied!)

  • Assist with mailing projects

  • Organize a canned food and paper goods drive

  • Join our Board of Directors

  • Help with gardening and lawn maintenance

  • Decorate at the holidays

Thank you to all who volunteer and for your continued support in making AHHH a home away from home for our patients and their guests!
