Service Provided: The AHHH provides lodging, kitchen and laundry facilities for patients and family members who are in Atlanta for medical care. We prepare and serve dinner every night at 7:00. Staff is on duty at all times. Individuals who do not stay overnight may use the house during the day to rest, bathe or do laundry. We are a smoke free environment.
Eligibility: You must reside outside of the metropolitan Atlanta area (generally a 40 mile radius of the hospital). If you are traveling with children under the age of 12, you'll have to call the house first for accommodations with children. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, religion or national origin.
Location: We are on South Ponce de Leon Ave near Clifton Road. 5 to 10 minutes from Emory University Hospital, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and the VA Hospital. A 15 minute drive from Atlanta Medical Center, Kindred Hospital, and Crawford Long Hospital. We are on a major bus route.
Funding: There is a nightly $10 donation requested per guest. The House is supported by donations from churches, foundations, civic and veterans organizations, businesses, and individuals, including guests and former guests. No government funds are used. We are not funded by any of the hospitals we serve.
